SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN FOLLOWING JESUS OR YOUR FAMILY

The truth is that when we get serious to obey the Bible and the Lord we will often have to say goodbye to much of the world, our friends including our families and even our parents. Most are not willing to choose to live righteous lives because it would cost them their worldly pleasures and living for their flesh. True obedience to the Lord requires saying goodbye to willfully choosing a sinful life. We must choose to walk in the fruit of the spirit like Jesus. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Also humility and sexual purity. Galatians 5:16-26

Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV

““Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

The Bible says we cannot love our parents or children more than Jesus.

Matthew 10:35-37 NKJV

“For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.”

So you will often have a life of few friends and family because most will not choose to live a godly and righteous life and you cannot align yourself with those who are aligned with the world. It’s a high cost but you will have a closer relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit and eternal life and that is what matters most.

Mark 10:28-31 NKJV

“Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.” So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.””

When you choose to obey Jesus you will have a new spiritual godly family of brothers and sisters and parents and children.
