CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE – THE WORLD OR JESUS?

Joshua 24:14-25 NKJV

14 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

It is time for every individual person in this world to make a decision as to whom they will serve.  Either the gods of this world or Jesus Christ.  We know by reading the Bible that few will be included in the remnant because wide is the gate that leads to destruction and many will go in by it.  It is much more difficult to choose to serve Christ as there are many people who will come against you and you simply cannot allow yourself to be influenced by those who are ungodly as they will cause you to stumble with them.

Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV

The Narrow Way

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

It is easy to see just how far away from the Lord people have drifted – both outside the church and inside.  So many are choosing to follow people whose lives are filled with sin, sexual perversity, corruption, abuse and evil.   To stand up for righteousness and holiness is mocked, disdained and will bring much persecution on oneself.  It is not easy to stand up for Jesus in today’s society as you will be a small minority and have much hatred come your way. I see it on Facebook whenever I write a post that stands up for purity, godliness and Christ’s values as people who are spiritually blind will come against it.  Those who would claim to be a Christian who would actually vote for Biden and the Democrats’ pure evil values.  It is shocking to see how far away from Christ these people have drifted.  There is nothing Christlike about the Democratic platform as they promote abortion, homosexuality, transgender, pedophilia, prostitution, defunding the police and every vile and perverse thing. People are going to be held accountable by God for supporting such evilness.

Let’s read what the Bible actually says about what it means to be a Christian.

Galatians 5:16-26 NKJV

Walking in the Spirit

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

If people would actually see that Hell is a very real place and how horrible it is to live there for eternity then they would repent for their sin, forgive others who hurt them and turn to God. God loves everyone but gives us a free will to decide if we want to serve Him or Satan who rules the earth.  God looks upon our hearts and minds and what fruit we have to determine if we will go to heaven or not.  Most people have been hurt growing up by their mother or father, siblings, step-parents, relatives, friends or others.  When we get hurt and wounded we will hear demonic thoughts which will cause us to be angry and bitter at the people who hurt us instead of forgiving them and being freed ourselves.  Jesus was our model for forgiving others and said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” as he was dying on the cross.  If we don’t forgive others then God cannot forgive us and we will give legal rights to demons to torment our thoughts and we will never have peace and good health.

Matthew 6:15 NKJV

15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

So to be freed – we must forgive everyone who ever hurt us – truly from our hearts.  Then we can command the demons that torment us to go to the pit and no longer hear thousands of negative thoughts every day.  We will also have much better health when we forgive other people as the root of bitterness will not spring up in us.

Hebrews 12:14-16 NKJV

14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; 16 lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

Hebrews 12:14 clearly states that we must pursue peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.  How many of us walk in peace and holiness?  I would say maybe 5-10% of those who would call themselves Christian.  It’s a small remnant of those who attend church regularly.  It is so critical that we are honest with ourselves, forgive people who hurt us, repent for our pride and sin and get right with the Lord before it is too late.

Matthew 7:15-23 NKJV

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Many who attended church will plead to the Lord at the day of judgment to enter into heaven but most will hear “depart from me, you who practice sin.”  It is time to get serious with the Lord as the world is getting worse – not better.  Sin and evil is more prevalent than ever.  You have a choice.  Choose life not death.  Humble yourself before the Lord.  Forgive those who hurt you.  Repent for your sins.  Heaven and Hell are real.  Choose wisely.
