As soon as a new believer comes into the church they should go through deliverance.  Existing believers should all go through deliverance.  How many churches do you know that offer deliverance services? Many of the larger churches offer some sort of counseling / psychological services and some of the smaller ones offer pastoral counseling to try to help people who are struggling with spiritual issues (ie demons tormenting their thoughts). A few offer inner healing services but unfortunately, very few offer services to actually impact a person’s life through getting delivered and freed from the demons that are tormenting them every day.

So many people think about deliverance from Hollywood’s scary and glorified perspective. The Exorcist, Poltergeist, head spinning, vomiting, slithering like snakes and deep dark voices from beyond. Witches dressed up in witch hats over cauldrons, casting spells and hexes on people trying to kill them.

I never wanted to have anything to do with deliverance.  The Lord called me into the ministry by default as I had to deal with some family members who got affected through various events in life that gave the enemy the legal right to torment them and then torment me.  I could not live in peace and no matter how many thousands of dollars I paid to professional counselors, no drug in the world could get to the root of the issues because it was a spiritual (demonic) issue. I learned you simply cannot counsel out a demon. You needed to learn what gave the demon a legal right to torment the person and then take it away from them and cast it out.  I had my own deliverance that the Lord took me through in the fall of 2008 that changed me forever.

Legal rights include people who were hurt by their fathers, mothers, step parents, pastors, teachers, friends, spouses, suffering sexual violations and any other traumas. Once the person was hurt growing up or later in life, then the enemy had a legal right to remind them of the traumas and then to get them to be sad, take an offense, angry, unforgiving and prideful. Once that occurred then the person would hear the enemy (demon) speaking to them in their minds. They would hear things like “Your dad never loved you and you could never trust him. In fact every man will let you down and not protect you. Don’t let you husband tell you what to do!” Or “Don’t let your wife talk to you like that. She doesn’t know anything. She is just like your mom who didn’t show you love. You can never trust her – so tell her what to do and if she doesn’t do it then make her.  Be a man!”

Other thoughts happen every day where people are hearing the voices of demons in their heads. Pastors, doctors, attorneys, judges, business people, health care workers, students, you name it and people from all walks of life are hearing thoughts that are coming from the enemy. So many people get tormented every day and do not know how to shut down the chatter from the enemy. They don’t even realize their thoughts are coming from demonic spirits.

If churches don’t talk about the reality of demons, then the enemy has already won. You can talk all day about focusing on Jesus, and how He took everything for us on the cross, and we are overcomers but until we talk about the reality of what thoughts you are hearing every day in your head and discerning which thoughts are coming from the enemy and learning how to shut the enemy down, then you will never experience the peace in life that Christ died for to give you.  We need to realize the enemy’s tactics and how to disarm him in our lives.

So many people in the main stream churches have no clue how they are affected. They know they are not at peace, their relationships are broken and they turn to everything but the real solution that can help them. Yes Jesus Christ is the real solution. But how do they stop the enemy from bombarding them with his thoughts? How can they walk in peace every day? How can they walk in good health since it states in Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

It comes down to deliverance. Deliverance doesn’t have to be weird or scary. I have done mass deliverances since March 2017 and have seen thousands set free around the world on Facebook, in churches, home groups, state parks, farmers markets, etc. The most common manifestation is for people to yawn. Some burp. Some may feel some pressure for a few seconds and then it leaves. Many feel the Leviathan spirit unwrap from their spine. They feel lighter. Peaceful. Happy. Joyful.

In the simplest form, deliverance is forgiving people who have hurt you, repenting for pride in your life and coming out of agreement with the voices of the demons you have been listening to your entire life since you received pains in your life. The Lord told me that my ministry Restored to Freedom was a bridge between the main stream church and demons. That we needed to be normal and not weird. Demons make normal people do weird things. Demons cause people to not be nice. They cause people to lie, get angry, take offense, be jealous, walk in pride, do sexually ungodly things, have sickness, gossip, hurt people, cause divorces, and kill people.

When people forgive everyone who hurt them, truly forgive them, then the enemy loses a legal right to torment them. Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” How can you forgive someone who hurt you very deeply. You need to ask the Holy Spirit to show you that person through His eyes. You will then be able to see that they were hurt by someone deeply in their lives which caused them to hear demonic thoughts to have them do things that were not godly. Many people in the church have endured many heartbreaks and pain in their lives. Thus they are simply behaving like puppets for the demons that are speaking to them.

Once you have forgiven people then you need to humble yourself from all pride. James 4:10 “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:6 “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Also Isaiah 2:12 “For the day of the Lord of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up – and it shall be brought low.”

So we need to humble ourselves or the Lord will resist you and humble you. When we are prideful we are operating in the spirit of Leviathan (Job 41). Verse 34 states that Leviathan is king over all the children of pride. Therefore we need to ask the Lord to help us humble ourselves. Whatever it takes. Many times you have to apologize to people you have hurt like your children, spouse or ex-spouse. You need to try to make it right as much as you can.

Once you have done what needs to be done, forgiven all who have hurt you and repented for your pride. Then you have taken the legal right away from the enemy to continue to torment your thoughts and then command the enemy to be gone. Then instead of the enemy being in the same room as you wherever you go in your house (in your mind) it is like the enemy is outside your home and you can then discern his voice and shut him down. You can walk like Christ in peace. It doesn’t mean the enemy won’t speak to you, but it means you will discern his voice and shut him down after a few words.

Deliverance is key to getting the church pure and spotless before Christ comes back. Matthew 7:21-23 “21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord,have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”

The Lord knows your heart and mind. It doesn’t matter how you may appear to people, it matters who God knows you are. Who are you behind closed doors? God knows. Get delivered and be free.
