JESUS SAID WE MUST JUDGE… WITH RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT

Many people state that we must not judge anyone at all referring back to when Jesus said in Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”

Jesus was talking about those who were living unrighteously, in unrepentant sin and judging others like the compromised Pharisees….they had pride and religious spirits….they had logs in their own eyes that they needed to remove first before they could accurately judge. Righteous judgement is good and required. Jesus judged righteously the hearts of people.

The Pharisees were angry with Jesus for healing on Shabbat because they called it work and no work should be done on Fridays after sunset – not even healing people miraculously from lifetimes of paralysis or leprosy and doing what was right which they never did. Jesus talked a lot about the need to judge righteously throughout the book of John.

So Jesus said we need to judge from a righteous, godly standard. The problem is most Christians are not delivered from demons so they can’t judge righteously. If you lust after people, are prideful, allowing sin to run your life then you cannot judge others righteously. When we are healed and delivered from demons we are able to judge others righteously for sin in their own lives out of a place of love to help them get healed and delivered so they can change and walk in righteousness. Jesus said in John 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

And Paul confirmed that we must judge those who call themselves believers but do not repent for their sin and change.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NLT

When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.””

So if no one judges righteously those operating in sin and demonic spirits will cause the church to have no godly standard. They will never talk about the need for deliverance and repentance and then most stay in their unrepentant sin and then go to hell. Jesus said when he healed people to go and sin no more. He told them to repent which means to change and turn from sin. Healing and deliverance helps people to change from struggling with sin and their flesh and walk in the fruit of the spirit. Sin becomes rare and they can judge others righteously and then help them to forgive, repent for pride and sin and be delivered from demons and walk in the ways of the Lord.

I Corinthians 6:9-10 NKJV

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
