WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT PEOPLE WHO CLAIM TO BE A BELIEVER BUT ARE SINNING?

Most people have never read this scripture in the New Testament and I have never heard a pastor ever preach it in a message. It is written by Paul.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NLT

“When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.””

So how many churches are obeying this verse? Most allow anyone who calls themselves a believer to stay in their church and behave sexually compromised, looking at porn and masturbating, lusting, emotionally abuse their spouses and children, lie and get drunk and walk in very sinful ways. Especially if they tithe. There are also many churches who allow people operating in the spirit of Jezebel and Leviathan to walk in these sinful ways and sadly even be in leadership positions, leading worship, teaching, preaching and being the lead intercessor in prayer and even deliverance. Obviously these people need to pursue getting their soul wounds healed, humbling themselves and being delivered from their demonic spirits because Jesus would never allow leaders to live compromised sinful lives. But when the church tells people that Christians and those with the Holy Spirit can’t have demons then the people won’t get delivered and will hurt many other people.

So we need to obey the Bible and help people get delivered from their demons so they can change from walking in their flesh to walking in the fruit of the spirit and making sin rare in their lives. If they refuse to change and keep their demons we need to remove them from the church so they won’t hurt others. If they want to get serious about changing and pursue healing and deliverance then they can come back.
