People who are under the influence of demons (including church people) will purposefully try and engage with you to cause strife and anger by saying things to rile you up. They literally enjoy fighting and arguing with others and then pointing the finger at you to blame you for reacting to their provocation. It can be extremely challenging to stay at peace around these people because they know exactly what to say to hurt your heart and get you to react which is their goal because that’s how they feel empowered to be in control by making you lose control.
So it’s important in most cases to simply walk away from these types of people instead of being pulled into their drama and chaos, stealing your peace and wasting your time. When you stay in contact they will continue to say things to hurt and wound you and make it impossible for you not to want to respond back in frustration and anger. Also if they try and email or text or call you, once you realize they are trying to provoke and intimidate you block them, and don’t even finish reading or hearing their message so it won’t affect you with anger or fear. What does the Bible say about being around divisive and argumentative people?
2 Timothy 2:23-26 NKJV
“But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”

“But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.”
