GOD HATES THE EMOTIONAL ABUSE WHICH CAUSES DIVORCE
Men and women who are overly controlling, manipulative and emotionally abusive to their spouse cause the Lord to be angry with them for their bad treatment of their spouse. Those who attend church regularly and are not healed of their soul wounds will have demons oppressing them causing them to behave as fake Christians who want to appear godly yet behind closed doors are causing their spouse to be hopeless, oppressed, have sickness and can even cause them a slow death. When an abusive spouse refuses to repent and get delivered the Lord wants the abused spouse to get away from them.
Five key signs of emotional abuse include isolation (controlling contact with others),criticism/humiliation (name-calling, put-downs),control/possessiveness (monitoring, jealousy),gaslighting (making you doubt reality), and manipulation/intimidation (threats, guilt-trips), all designed to erode your self-worth and create dependency.
Malachi 2:13-17 NKJV
“And this is the second thing you do: You cover the altar of the Lord with tears, With weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, Nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant. But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. “For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.” You have wearied the Lord with your words; Yet you say, “In what way have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil Is good in the sight of the Lord, And He delights in them,” Or, “Where is the God of justice?””

God talks about the man who is treacherous with his wife. What does treacherous mean?
The word “treacherous” means violating a pledge or breaking a sacred trust. It describes an act of deception, or spiritual unfaithfulness—like a spouse breaking marital vows or a believer abandoning their relationship with God.
The truth is that these emotionally abusive spouses (men and women) have broken their vows before the Lord to love, honor and respect their spouse as unto the Lord. They have actually departed their marriage emotionally and broken covenant even if they haven’t departed physically. They are the cause of the breakdown in the marriage because they broke the peace in the marriage.

Sapphira submitted to her ungodly husband Ananias in Acts 5:1-11 who caused her to lie to Peter about what they received when they sold their property and the Lord killed her after He killed her husband.
Never submit to a spouse who is not submitted to God or it could cost you your life. Never make an idol of an ungodly spouse or they will stop you from obeying Jesus and lead you to hell with them. If your spouse refuses to get delivered from their demons it’s time to obey the Lord and not the demons in your spouse or those with religious spirits in the church.
