Some marriages were setups from Satan where he sent you a person acting like they were a Christian, going to church regularly yet after they duped you into marrying them they walked in their flesh with no fruit of the spirit, controlling and manipulating you to serve them, hurting your children, lying about you to others and trying to destroy your godly reputation and stopping you from ministering to others. Many talk about how God hates divorce but He actually hates the emotional abuse from the spouse that actually causes the need for divorce.
Malachi 2:14-17 NKJV
“Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant. But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. “For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.” You have wearied the Lord with your words; Yet you say, “In what way have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil Is good in the sight of the Lord, And He delights in them,” Or, “Where is the God of justice?””
In the Bible, “treacherous” generally means betrayal, deceit, or unfaithfulness. It describes a severe breach of a sacred bond, trust, or marriage covenant. Anyone who emotionally abuses their own spouse has broken the marriage covenant and God is angry with them.
In the Book of Ezra (chapters 9 and 10), Ezra leads a mass repentance where the Israelite men are commanded to divorce their pagan ungodly wives. This drastic measure aimed to purge the community of idolatry and preserve the religious purity of Israel after their return from the Babylonian exile.
So being married to a fake believer who is ungodly and impure can have devastating affects on your health and salvation. So just because a person professes to be a Christian doesn’t mean they are as most are not healed from their soul wounds or delivered from demons.
2 Corinthians 6:14-16 NLT
“Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
Never make an idol out of a fake Christian spouse who is not a true believer with the fruit of the spirit as they can hinder you from your calling in the Lord, hurt your children, cause you to get sick and even die an early death. If they refuse to get their soul wounds healed, forgive all who hurt them, repent for their pride and sin, command demons out then the Lord will tell you it’s time to go. God often asks you “who will you serve, the demons in your spouse or Me” as He knows if they will change or not. They have a freewill to choose to be delivered or not.
