When you refuse to bow down to toxic people in your family you expose the dysfunction and sins of the entire toxic family system which causes the demons within the family to be angry with you. Most in a toxic family will simply tolerate the toxicity and allow each member to behave in various ways that are detrimental and sinful by looking the other way in order to keep some semblance of order and peace.
So when you refuse to tolerate anyone’s toxicity in the family what happens is your mother or father who is the narcissist (or Jezebel spirit) will get angry at your non compliance with their demands when you point out the wrong and sin with the various people in the family. Your mother or father who is the empath (or Ahab spirit) will also be angry at you because you disobeyed their spouse causing the narcissist to take out their anger on them.
Your siblings who go along with the dysfunction and look the other way are treated as favored or golden compliant children and ultimately develop entitled attitudes full of pride and become future narcissists as they grow older. The same applies to any toxic extended family like sister or brother in laws, aunts, uncles, grandparents or cousins.
So when you call out others’ bad behaviors or refuse to go along with them then you are then viewed as the black sheep of the family and all the sins of the family members are placed on you as you are looked at as a trouble maker who “just can’t get along with anyone!” all because you have a moral compass and refuse to go along with the toxicity and sin within the family.
So what did Jesus say when we decide to make a commitment to obeying Him and the Bible instead of our obeying toxic ungodly family?
Matthew 10:34-38 NKJV
““Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.”
Obeying Jesus often requires that you stay away from your toxic demonic family members who refuse to repent or change and find other people who are godly, healed and delivered to be your safe and healthy spiritual family.
