In life we grow up and most of us hope for the best but as Forrest Gump once lamented “Momma always said, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates….you never know what you’re gonna get.’ ” If we are raised in a typical non-Christian family there is little or no faith for health or healing other than visits to the doctor or hospital. If something happened to your health, the only way of getting better was to go to the doctor and hope that he or she could “fix” you, provided you could pay the bill. Without medical intervention, you were given to a life of pain and misery until you die.
If we are raised in a typical Christian family there is occasionally a glimmer of faith but most people are taught that God must sovereignly decide to heal so pray that He will heal you and wait to see if you get lucky. Fortunately, I was raised in a Christian home that had some faith for supernatural healing. I never knew exactly how God worked or that there was a more effective way to see people healed – a much better way. It is somewhat of a conceptual challenge to understand that it is always God’s will that we are healed. We wonder, is God in a good mood today? Is He having a good or bad day? Are we “good enough” to be healed from a significant sickness or disease?
Most people are not taught the truth from the Bible concerning what Jesus taught about healing. Many pastors do not see instant healings when they pray for someone or they are among those with a sickness or disease in their own lives. They were never taught at seminary, Bible College, or continuing education on the subject of healing and if they were it was usually not completely accurate. The Enemy does not want you to know the truth; divine health is your right as a believer, but only if you really know that you know that it is your right. What if your entire life you were never taught by the church, pastor, or priest about one of the greatest truths ever – that Jesus really meant it when he said in John 14:12 NKJV “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” How many believers today are truly doing the same or greater works than Jesus? Jesus began his ministry around age thirty with his first miracle of turning water into wine.
The Bible states in Luke 3:23 NJKV “Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli”. Jesus died on the cross, arose from the dead, and left the earth at age thirty-three after a total of about three years of ministry. I read John 14:12 to say that we should be able to do many more miracles than Jesus if only we are aware of and are actively exercising our authority for more than three years. If we are actively working to heal people for twenty or more years then we most assuredly will be able to see many more healings than Jesus ever did based on doing them over a much longer timeframe. How many persons do you know that have been healed, who are praying for people to be healed, or seeing consistent healings? Sadly the reality is that most people in this world do not see anyone healed nor do they operate in the same authority as Christ. What good is it to be a Christian on earth if we are as sick and hurting as those who are non-believers? Jesus did not die in order that we may continue to be sick and diseased and in fear the same as a non-Christian only knowing that someday when you die you will hopefully get to heaven!
My objective is to make everyone aware that if you are a believer in Christ you can live a life free from sickness and disease. Despite that your father, mother or ancestors had many sicknesses and diseases for centuries, if you are aware that you have been given authority by Jesus Christ, you can get that revelation into your spirit and walk in that authority every day of your life. It is time to reexamine what the authority of the believer means and to walk in the same life-giving health as Christ. Miracles, signs and wonders will follow you all of your days!
