IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH YOU WON’T GET DELIVERED
“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.””
John 8:31-32 NKJV
We all believe lies in our lives. When we get hurt growing up demons will give us thoughts to deceive us trying to get us to trust in their voices and then take their destructive advice. Many will believe that these voices have their best interest at heart when the truth couldn’t be any further away. The demons will tempt us to sin, be sexually impure, choose to drink alcohol, smoke, take drugs, over eat, lie, gossip, slander, control other people, abuse our spouse and children, etc. We will justify fleshly behavior.
Many of us have been wrongly taught that Christians can’t be affected by demons. That’s a lie. If we believe that we aren’t impacted by demonic thoughts then we will suffer in our lives by hurting others and sabotaging our relationships. We will destroy our own marriages, hurting the person that we should love by emotionally starving them and causing much damage to their souls and hearts. The demons want us to believe that we are the victims instead of the abusers. That we are right and others are the enemy and wrong.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
Hosea 4:6 NKJV
Many believe the voices of the demons which tell them that they should not trust anyone except for themselves. They sense that everyone is out to get them or to ruin their lives. They trust no one, including God. They must control everyone. They believe that they are still a victim (instead of becoming the abuser) as an adult. That all of their decisions they made were always the best for them. Anyone who doesn’t agree with them is wrong or bad. Others must do what they want or else bad things will happen to them. So they must control everyone around them and make them do what they want.
As long as the demons remain within them then that person’s life will get worse. Demons are able to continue to torment anyone due to legal rights through unforgiveness, pride, sin, idols, etc.
So what if we don’t truly forgive others who have hurt us, from our hearts? How does not forgiving others affect us?
Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 18:31-35 NKJV
31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’ 34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”
So the truth is that if we refuse to forgive others who have hurt us then we will be tormented by demons in our minds and body. If we don’t believe that and refuse to forgive others, then we will suffer. Some will also get infirmities and sickness.
Pride is another area that causes Christians to struggle. They believe all their decisions are the best. They don’t see or believe that they are prideful. They feel that they don’t need to change anything about themselves. They are good to go. They don’t believe they have demons but feel like everyone else who doesn’t agree with them probably do. Lucifer got kicked out of heaven due to his pride. Many Christians are not in heaven and went to hell due to keeping pride in their lives as they justified their sinful behavior as acceptable due to their false understanding of grace. Grace allows us time to repent for our sin…not to keep sin in our lives and live like the world.
Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV
16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren
The Lord hates pride in our lives. Evil things occur when we don’t remove it. Prideful people are some of the hardest to get delivered from demons. Jesus called out the Pharisees and scribes for their pride. He called them hypocrites, white washed tombs, vipers. They refused to humble themselves and ended up in hell. How many modern day Pharisees and scribes are there in the church today? Many.
So when the Lord is dealing with us about pride if we refuse to hear the truth and repent then demons will have legal rights to torment us and we will keep sin in our lives.
Sin should be rare in a true Christian. True Christians treat others with love and walk in all of the fruits of the spirit. Some believe that they don’t have to repent and change. They believe that they can keep sin in their lives regularly. They don’t believe the truth of what the Bible states.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.”
I John 3:4-10 NKJV
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:15-23 NKJV
“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Hebrews 10:26-31 NKJV
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;”
Hebrews 12:14-15 NKJV
So ultimately if you can’t be honest and receive the truth you will not get delivered. If you cannot humble yourself to hearing the truth that you need to change, repent, get delivered, and ultimately have the fruit of the spirit and love people like Christ and make sin become rare in your life, then you will not get delivered and sadly not go to heaven. Sadly there are many in the church today who refuse to receive the truth and who will not be delivered allowing demons, sin and the fruit of the flesh in their lives. They have freewill to choose. To be honest and to choose life. Or to live in lies and receive death.
