MANY WANT INSTANT DELIVERANCE FROM THEIR PAIN WITHOUT ANY EFFORT TO CHANGE
Many of us want delivered from our pain without any effort to change on our part. Many want healed of the sicknesses and pains in their bodies without having to truly forgive all who ever hurt them so that God can forgive them for those they hurt and walk in good health. They want to look thin or strong without cutting out sugars and fried food from their diet and exercising every day. They want delivered from smoking without actually enduring any pain from withdrawal symptoms. They want to be blessed in their lives without changing their sinful behavior to obey the Bible. They want to be elevated to leading a ministry without consecrating their lives to total obedience to the Lord and sacrificing their financial living arrangements. They say they want freed from porn and masturbating yet won’t stop looking at porn, lusting and masturbating because it feels good to their flesh. They want to be delivered from poverty yet refuse to tithe regularly and waste money on addictions and foolish temporal things. They want to be rich without having to work or stop wasting money on themselves. They want a relationship with their child without apologizing for the things they said or did that hurt them. They want to be happily married but don’t want to pursue soul wound healing and deliverance and admitting the truth of what they did to hurt their spouse and repenting for their own pride and being honest and humbling themselves. They want all the blessings and favor from the Lord without changing to repent from the sin in their lives and sacrificing their fleshly desires for godly behavior.
Some married a spouse who lied to them about being a Christian as they had no intentions of treating them like God would want. They have been emotionally abused for years and their spouse has told them they will not change. They have prayed and fasted but God has told them that He cannot override their abusive spouse’s freewill to deliver them. So God has told them they need to separate and divorce their spouse in order to be free from the abuse and be able to truly serve the Lord because their spouse refuses to change. They have not obeyed God as they have instead made an idol of their spouse before God. They have refused to leave because it is hard to explain to religious church people who will look down on them and shame them with “God hates divorce” without reading the entire scripture within context where God reprimands the man who deals treacherously with his wife and abuses her which causes the divorce.
“But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. “For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.””
Malachi 2:15-16 NKJV
Therefore the abused are more afraid of what religious people will say or think instead of obeying God. I know of a woman who stayed with her emotionally abusive husband too long until she developed a brain tumor at age 40 due to the emotional abuse from her husband and then she died.
For most who are abusive it’s easier to blame others instead of looking at the mirror at ourselves and admitting that we need to change. We need to give to the Lord areas of our lives that are not healthy for us. Anger, bitterness, demons. Most who are abusive in a marriage want their spouse to change by having them just tolerate the abuse so they don’t have to change and can keep abusing them. They want their spouse to simply be a slave to them. To be obedient to their selfish demands instead of they themselves changing to become more Christlike and admitting they were wrong in their treatment of them all along.
It’s hard to change. Hard to forgive people from our hearts. Hard to repent for pride and walk in humility. Hard to long suffer and be patient. Hard to be kind to people who are mean to us. Hard to obey the Bible and starve our flesh. Hard to fast from food we like. Hard to turn off movies that are bad, stop listening to ungodly songs. Hard to live righteously according to the Word. Hard to stand up to people with the Jezebel spirit and tell them no because they will yell at you.
When you won’t crucify your flesh privately your flesh will crucify you publicly. When you walk in pride privately the Lord will often humble you publicly.
When a person has been hurt for 30-40 years and has anger and bitterness and hears demonic spirits you usually won’t see them get healed and delivered in a day, a week or a month. It often will take a year or longer for the sanctification process to be complete. Especially when they have been told by the church that they couldn’t have demons because they are a Christian. It is not easy to make sin a rare thing in our lives but is necessary to walk like Christ would expect.
““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.”
I John 3:4-10 NKJV
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:15-23 NKJV
“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Hebrews 10:26-31 NKJV
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;”
Hebrews 12:14-15 NKJV
