PURSUING A RIGHTEOUS LIFE IS A GOOD THING

Sadly most people in the church don’t hear messages anymore about pursuing a life of righteous living.  They hear messages of hyper grace which tell them that they will never be able to live a godly life so they might as well continue to choose to sin and just ask the Lord to forgive them (and some have gone as far as saying they don’t have to ask for forgiveness anymore!).  Unfortunately this is causing people to have a lackadaisical attitude about pursuing a life of righteousness, purity and Christlike behavior which is playing into Satan’s hands.

Most pastors never talk about Matthew 7:21-23 because they are afraid of offending their tithers and losing money from their regular attenders and they look the other way if they have a talented worship leader,  intercessor or church leader that they know are living an ungodly sinful life.  Unfortunately many of their church attenders are not on their way to heaven should they die and sadly they don’t even realize it because they don’t want to preach the whole Bible.  They would prefer to speak about nice messages that never offend anyone.

Matthew 7:21-23 NJKV

I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

So this scripture explains clearly that many will talk to the Lord after they have died about how they have prophesied, cast out demons and done many wonders yet will be headed to hell and not heaven because they are regularly practice sinning.

So what does that look like today?  If a “Christian” is attending church, prophesying, casting out demons and doing many wonders and looking like a “Christian” to most people – yet continuing to pursue an ungodly lifestyle full of sin and fleshly desires – then it appears that they do not have enough fruit of the spirit as evidence of actually being a real Christian in the eyes of God. What does the Bible actually say about this? Most pastors in America talk about just asking Jesus into your hearts and confessing Him as Lord of your life and you are good to go.  Few talk about that fruit matters and actually will determine if you make it to heaven or not.  The remnant is small.

Galatians 5:16-26 NKJV

Walking in the Spirit

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

So clearly if you regularly practice living a life of the flesh, sinning sexually, getting angry regularly, jealous, selfish, being hateful, putting things before God (idolatry) like your job, money, your spouse, etc., controlling other people (sorcery), partying (revelries) that you will not inherit the kingdom of God.  Many struggle with the Jezebel and Leviathan Spirits and God gives them a time to repent but not forever.  There will be consequences for sin. You actually need to have the fruit of the Spirit in your life which proves who you really are in your heart.  You should have love, joy, peace, be patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-control.  That is a small percentage of people who attend church every week (when they used to attend church prior to COVID).

So how does a person actually have fruit of the Spirit in their lives regularly and not the fruit of the flesh?  How do they live a life of righteousness, purity and godliness like Christ?  The only way is to pursue inner healing and deliverance from the demons tormenting their souls (mind, will and emotions).  They must be honest, forgive all those who have hurt then in their lives, humble themselves from their pride and repent for their sin – turning their lives to the Lord.

How do you truly forgive people who hurt you when you grew up?  Ask Jesus to give you a word or vision to allow you to see those people who hurt you from His perspective.  Then you can truly forgive them from your heart when you understand that those people were hurt and treated you badly because they were hearing demons.  Then ask the Lord to help you humble yourself from your pride that always comes in when you have been hurt.  Then you can repent from your sins and turn and pursue a life of purity and righteousness. Then you will see personal revivals breakout, family revivals, church revivals and towns and city revivals.
