What do you do when a person with the spirit of Jezebel and Leviathan comes against you that you are not married to? How should you react when they lie about you and hurt you deeply to your family or friends or church? Should you confront them directly and demand that they apologize to you? Should you block them on Facebook and never speak to them again unless they say they are sorry?
It has been my experience that the best way to handle them is to go to the Lord and get insight from the Holy Spirit and respond accordingly. Unfortunately, most of us feel anger rise up in us (and the enemy is whispering to us loudly at that point) and we want to handle it in the flesh. Then you lower yourself to the enemy’s field and you will usually lose.
Although every situation is unique, more often than not it is usually best to simply take it to prayer and give them to the Lord to do the correcting. If we get into a physical battle of words then usually the person with the Jezebel/Leviathan spirit will win because they are professionals at lying, denying, blame shifting, acting, etc. You will become extremely frustrated and angry. In some cases the Lord may have you confront but you need to listen clearly and do what He says, not out of anger, but out of loving correction.
Those with the Jezebel/Leviathan spirit know how to push your buttons and cause you to lose your temper and then point a finger at you and say “Look how bad you are!” with a Cheshire cat smile on their face. When you give them to the Lord, then what happens is that He will do the correcting in a perfect way, in His perfect timing. Then you will usually be blessed because of the persecution and your adversary will become more frustrated.
One time I had a pastor and his son-in-law come to confront me in front of my pastor. The Lord told me to confront them about the plank of sin in their own lives. When I did they were very arrogant and would not be contrite or humbled. Then within a year their church of 200 was shut down by the Lord and had to be sold. I didn’t want to have to confront them but the Lord told me I needed to in order to give them a warning from Him with a chance to repent for their sin and change. Then if they didn’t He said He would shut down their ministry.
In most cases when someone lies about me, the Lord tells me to let it go and keep doing what He wants me to do and I will be blessed even more greatly. That the fruit will be evident to all and no one will believe the lies. Obviously if I need corrected due to something in my own life, then the Lord will tell me and I will make changes. If the Lord corrects me by another person, then I will listen and see if it lines up with what the Lord is saying to me and if so, I will make the change. But sometimes the enemy speaks through other people to try to control me and stop what the Lord wants me to do, and I must do what the Lord tells me. The truth ultimately sets people free.
It is so critical to listen to the Holy Spirit and Lord about what to do in every situation. More often than not when you have a person with Jezebel trying to come against you, it is best to not have anything to do with them and keep your distance to let the Lord work on them until they are ready to be set free and to be humbled. Keeping your peace on is very important at all times and if the enemy is whispering to you about them and wanting you to pay them back, just say no. Give to God. Look what happened in the life of Joseph. He was sold by his jealous brothers. Came to Egypt and was being promoted. Then Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him to have sex with her and he said no. Then she accused him and lied about him and he was put in jail for 2 years. One day he finally was called upon to interpret a dream for the Pharaoh and upon interpreting it was elevated to #2 in command of all of Eqypt in Genesis 41:37-41 NKJV below:
37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”
39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
So although it is no fun to have people believe lies about you, that is what Jezebel/Leviathan does in people. In most cases, if you just give them to the Lord and keep on doing what you are supposed to do by the Lord, you will be blessed and they will have heaps of coal poured upon them and eventually people will know the truth.
So keep you peace on, and do what the Holy Spirit directs you to do and let the Lord take care of your adversaries. God is good and will correct those who need correcting and will bless those who are pure, righteous, and humble before Him.
