PAUL SAID TO JUDGE THOSE IN THE CHURCH WHO ARE SINNING
When we are healed and delivered and sin is rare in our lives Paul said we absolutely need to judge those in the church and remove them if they are claiming to be believers yet have much sin in their lives. Otherwise they will cause much damage to those in the church due to their sin by lying, cheating, behaving sexually perverse, etc. Especially leaders.
“When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.””
1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NLT
When Jesus was addressing not judging people He was referring to people who had much sin in their lives – like the pride-filled Pharisees and Scribes. He knew they needed to get healed and delivered because they had “logs” in their own eyes.
““Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye. “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.”
Matthew 7:1-6 NLT
Satan then slowly convinced people over centuries in the church that no one was without sin so then no one could dare judge anyone else who claimed to be a believer or was a leader in the church who had a lot of sin in their lives by allowing them to remain in the church and even lead churches and ministries. Therefore those who struggled with a lot of sin in the church could remain and then operate and hurt people deeply through harsh treatment, lies, sexual and emotional abuse, contempt, pride, corruptness, selfishness, etc.
When in truth those in the church who are healed and delivered and sin is actually rare in their lives should have made sure that others operating in a lot of sin coming into the church needed to choose to get their wounds healed and delivered from demons so they could stay in the church. Otherwise they needed to leave in order to protect the body of Christ within the church. Thus if the pastors would regularly help people to forgive those who hurt them, repent for their pride and sin and cast out demons like Jesus did then their churches would be full of people who lived more like Jesus instead of the world or Satan.
Paul was speaking to people who would be building God’s church around the world and knew that people who acted like believers but had fruit of the flesh and had demons would want to work their way into the church and then negatively infect others. Paul knew that the true godly leaders of the church needed to keep it clean from the wolves in sheep’s clothing. Think about this – if you have a family would you allow someone with demonic spirits whose intentions of their heart would be to hurt and violate your family members to come live with you? Most likely not. That is why today’s large churches are easy targets for those with evil in their hearts to infiltrate, especially in leadership. That’s why over a million witches are able to attend churches every week and many have positioned themselves into leadership positions. I know of many couples where the abusive spouse (Jezebel) becomes too much for the abused spouse and the abused spouse simply wants help from their pastors at the church to get their abuser healed and delivered. When they begin to counsel the abuser will begin to have private conversations with their pastor and lie about their abused spouse acting like they are the ones who are abused in order to turn the pastor against the true victim. So then they end up separating or divorcing and the abuser with demons will be protected and invited to stay at the church while the abused spouse has to leave when in reality the pastor should tell try to get the abuser healed and delivered and then they could save the marriage.
This is similar to why a wise country never allows anyone to just cross over their border illegally because those with demonic evil intentions will hurt those within the country by negatively impacting the residents of the country, bringing drugs and even killing them.
So it is time for every one to get their soul wounds healed through forgiveness to all who hurt them, repentance for their sin and pride and deliverance from all demonic spirits with the evidence of the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), humility and sexual purity. Then we can healthily judge those who are actively in sin in the church to either get them to get healed and delivered or to remove them from fellowship.
I remember talking to a pastor in Ohio who was aware a woman in his congregation was living in sin and operating in the spirit of Jezebel. He told her that he wanted her to get healed and delivered so she could stay in his church. She refused. So he told her she had to leave his church, which she did. He knew God wanted Him to protect His sheep in his church.
John wrote this in Revelation concerning people who operate in the spirit of Jezebel.
““Write this letter to the angel of the church in Thyatira. This is the message from the Son of God, whose eyes are like flames of fire, whose feet are like polished bronze: “I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things. “But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman—that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet—to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to turn away from her immorality. “Therefore, I will throw her on a bed of suffering, and those who commit adultery with her will suffer greatly unless they repent and turn away from her evil deeds. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches out the thoughts and intentions of every person. And I will give to each of you whatever you deserve.”
